"Blessed is the Man Who Fears the LORD" (Psalm 112) - 17 May 2026

Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. We pray for your Church, O God, throughout the greater Oklahoma City area, this congregation, Grace Covenant, St. Benedict Orthodox, St. Elijah Antiochan Orthodox, and St. George Greek Orthodox. May your Church be blessed walking in the fear of God, submitting to Scripture alone, believing in Christ alone and delighting in your glory alone. May we be repentant where we have gone astray, especially where we have come to rely on our own works and ethnic pride as somehow giving us standing with you. May your grace break in, reforming and reviving us in our manners, message, and mission.

Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. Watch over Pastor Ezra Jyn, those beloved brothers and sisters imprisoned with him, and those threatened by the Communist Chinese regime. May your people’s light endure forever, no matter how much the evil one and his minions seek to snuff it out. Like Rome who sought to wipe out your people, yet your church remains while Rome is just history, do so again. Just as you converted Emperor Constantine and Saul of Tarsus, convert Xi Jinping, and turn him into a disciple of Jesus rather than Mao Zedong!

It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. From the White House all the way to our house, may we deal generously and openhandedly. May we conduct our lives, our legal briefs and our legislations with justice for the free born, foreign born, unborn. May righteousness and honor prevail in our land.

He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD. His heart is steady; he will not be afraid, until he looks in triumph on his adversaries. On behalf of all nations – such as Cuba – we pray… We also ask you to give your aid and care to those who are weak, weary and worn-out (…). May all peoples of all lands find you the trustworthy LORD! And may they come to trust in you!

He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor. May your people respond to your plenteousness by giving plentifully. Enrich and fortify those service organizations that are helping others in need, such as Project 66; Infant Crisis Center; Hope Center of Edmond; Hope Pregnancy Center; Restore OKC; and Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.

The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish! We pray for the wicked ones who gnash their teeth in anger against your reign and against your righteous ones. We pray for your gracious Spirit to bring about their conversion and renovation so they will rely on Jesus and submit to him. And if they will not, may they melt away and their desire perish, for your honor’s sake and Jesus’ sake. And now we pray in the power of the Spirit as Jesus taught us, saying, Our Father…

(This prayer is shaped by Psalm 112)
