Communion Meditation - 31 May 2015
Communion Meditation: "And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot" (1 Peter 1:17-19 ESV). You, if you have become one of God’s people thru Christ, then you have been ransomed and redeemed. But notice from what you have been liberated: the aimless conduct, futile ways , passed on to you by your forefathers. Study that a while, and hear this. Our extended families—parents, grandparents, great-grandparents—were pretty broken, and were a mixed bag; and they ended up passing on to us thoroughly messed up ways of living.
