"High King of Heaven, Never Caught Unawares..." - 12 September 2021

  (This is the congregational prayer at Heritage Presbyterian Church OKC on 12 September 2021) Glory be to God on high: And on earth peace, good will toward men. We praise you, we bless you, we worship you, we glorify you, we give thanks to you, for your great glory. O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty. O Lord, the only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, that takes away the sin of the world, have mercy on us. You that take away the sin of the world, receive our prayer. You that sit at the right hand of God the Father, have mercy on us. For you only are holy; you only are the Lord. You only, O Christ, with the Holy Ghost, are most high in the glory of God the Father. "Your Most Holy, Wise, and Powerful Preserving and Governing" - 5 September 2021

  O God, you created all things very good, by the word of your power; and your works of providence are your mostly holy, wise and powerful preserving and governing of all your creatures and all our actions (WSC 9 and 11). Therefore, our hearts are full of thankfulness because we have been richly endowed with your goodness, such as health, strength, hope, stamina, happiness, sustenance, homes, and satisfaction. And even when in your good providence these are withheld from us, we have you our greatest good and deepest joy! Thank you! O God, there are people we love and know who have never embraced your Son Jesus Christ, trusting in him for their salvation and repenting of their sins (…). There are those we love and know who seem to have become hardened by the deceitfulness of sin (…).
