Praying Psalm 2 (In Light of the Ascension) - 1 June 2025

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” O God see how the peoples and nations of this world conspire and rage against your Son and his Lordship: through adjudication, legislation, shaming on the air waves, taunting and demonizing through social media and music, and in some places by downright brutality and cruelty. See, O Lord! Take note and come to the aid of your chosen ones. We long to see our own nation flourish as a just and lawful land. We long to see our neighborhoods, cities and State to show themselves to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, “As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.” Though al...

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? And in some places downright brutality and cruelty. See, O Lord! Take note and come to the aid of your chosen ones. Further, we long to see our own nation flourish as a just and lawful land. We long to see our neighborhoods, cities, and State to show themselves to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. And dear Lord, on this Memorial Day we remember and appreciate those who died – men and women – giving themselves to the defense of our country, to keep it free from tyranny and tyrants...

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” O God, see how the peoples and nations of this world conspire and rage against your Son and his Lordship: through judication, legislation, execution of orders, shaming on the air waves, taunting, and demonizing through social media and music, and in some places, downright brutality, and cruelty. See, O Lord; take note and come to the aid of your chosen ones. We long to see our own nation flourish as a just and lawful land. We long to see our neighborhoods, cities, and State to show themselves to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. And on this 77 th Anniversary of D-Day, may we reflect and recall the bravery of many, the loss of countless numbers, and the sacrifice of so much in the cause of the right. Hear our prayer...

From Psalm 2 Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.” O God, see how the peoples and nations of this world conspire and rage against your Son and his Lordship: through judication, legislation, execution of orders, shaming on the air waves, taunting and demonizing through social media and music, and in some places downright brutality and cruelty. See, O Lord; take note and come to the aid of your chosen ones. We long to see our own nation flourish as a just and lawful land. We long to see our neighborhoods, cities and State to show themselves to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. Hear our prayer, O Lord, and let our cry come to you ! He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify th...

Sunday Morning Prayer: O Lord God, who saved us from the constraints of fear so that we may serve you in the freedom of love; we come in confidence to pray for your World and your Church. We pray for the nations of this earth, which desire to through off any allegiance to you, and conspire together against your anointed One (Psalm 2). Put your reverence in them, cause them to discard all their bloodlust, greed and jingoistic pride; and turn them toward your righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14.17). Almighty God, thank you for the heritage and legacy of this country. We are not ignorant of its many failings, but we are grateful for its initial recognition of God-ordained liberties. Lead our leaders and govern our governors that they may love mercy, do justly and walk humbly before you in the way of your truth. We pray for our U.S. Military personnel as they serve this country, may they do so honorably and valiantly. Comfort them in their difficulti...
