"O Lord, Grant Us the Grace..." - 22 March 2026

 

O Lord, grant unto us the grace we desperately need to withstand the temptations and avoid the infections of the world, the flesh and the devil, so that with pure heart, sound mind and holy delight we may follow you, our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. And beat down Satan under our feet! We remember these who are being wrangled by specific misfortunes (…). Console and relieve them according to their particular needs. Give them enduring patience under their sufferings and a happy ending to all their afflictions.

Please uphold our country, and Laos, Latvia, Lesotho, Liberia as well as all other nations in our world, and direct the hearts and minds of all world leaders to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before you in your ways of truth. We also pray for this region that you would kindly give us the needful portions of rain.

Lord Jesus, who for our sake was condemned as a criminal, please visit our jails, correctional facilities and prisons with your mercy and justice. Remember all prisoners. Bring the guilty to genuine, full-bodied repentance and amendment of life according to your will and give them hope for their future; especially for any who are on death row. When any are being held unjustly, bring them a fair and honest release. Guide us in improving our justice system. Remember those who work in these institutions; preserve them from the vicious and violent, while keeping them humane and compassionate. Finally, bless and prosper the Christian prison ministries (like Prison Fellowship) and Christian chaplains that they may powerfully convey your light and peace.

O Lord, we pray for your Church in all places, for this congregation, Open Door Church of God, Southern Hills, Gospel Fellowship PCA in Springfield and Christ the King PCA in Joplin. Deliver us from the evil one and help us to learn the secret of being content in whatever state we’re in, and to learn what it means that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

Lord, you are a merciful and jealous God. Convert your and our enemies. Draw to you those who are going astray from your life-giving, liberty-giving way (…). Restrain the malicious persecutors of your Church (ISIS, China, Iran, Iraq, some groups in Israel, Turkey, Libya, Boko Haram, Al-Shabaab, The Lord’s Resistance Army, etc.). Restrain the willful corrupters of your truth (New Apostolic Reformation, White Supremacists, Universalists, Nation of Islam, the Prosperity Gospelers, the spiritual offspring of Charles Taze Russell and Joseph Smith, etc.). Bring their counsels to naught and show that you are the Lord. Build your Church and make her a city upon the hill for the salvation of many. 

Thank you for this country in which we live, our families, our health, plentiful food, clothing, and thank you that we can cast all our care on you for you care for us. And now we join together in the power of the Spirit to pray as he taught us, saying, Our Father…

"Counterfeit Kingdom" by Pivec and Geivett. A Review.

  Some fifteen years ago he sat in my church study. He was the minister of a large charismatic church in town and had come to invite me to join a new reforming “movement,” the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). I had never heard of this movement, but he claimed it had apostles and prophets whom God had raised up to reignite the church and restore America to her Christian roots. Since those days I have heard more and more about the NAR, and began to notice how some prominent church leaders, pastors, and a few politicians, who are   aligned with the NAR and are coming into influence in our civil government.   Lord God, we come to intercede for your Church and world. We ask you to strengthen this congregation that in doing all things without complaining and disputing, we may become increasingly blameless, pure in quality, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation (Philippians 2:14-15). Be pleased to make us even more harmonious and to become more clearly a sign of grace to our fractured and fragmented world.
