"In My Father's House" - 3 January 2021

We implore your help and governance, Good Lord, for your church throughout the world, for this congregation, and also for East Lake Cumberland Presbyterian Church; Stonegate Presbyterian Church; Immanuel Covenant Church; and Oklahoma Korean Central Presbyterian Church. Oh Lord, we have heard delightful promises today! You are preparing a place, a warm, together-place in the Father’s house, and you stand at the door and welcome us in. And you have made the way for us to be part of your world rescue operation, your world reclamation project. Draw our works into your works. And may our prayers wrap themselves up in your aim that we may see the Father bring those requests to fruition.

We plead with you especially and expressly for your church in North America. Preserve us from ourselves; preserve us from amputating ourselves from the essential, directive, life-supporting connection to your Word; preserve us from caving in to the present societal, sexual, and civil storms that are brewing. Raise us up and guide us in affirming whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable; so that if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, we would aid our communities and nation to think over these things (Philippians 4:8).

For our own country, we beseech you: please bring sense and sensibility to our leaders and to the led, so that we may engage together, and for one another in healthy ways of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness

Almighty and everlasting God, who will one day restore all things in your Son, Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth who are divided and enslaved by sin, may come to be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule. And may your church, your Gospel, and your Spirit’s work be effective toward this end.

Shower your care, compassion, and kindness on those ailing, ill, recovering, recouping, saddened and sorrowful (…).

Rescue those who are perishing in their sins, and those who have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs (1 Timothy 6:10) (…).

Be with our sons and daughters who are beginning a new school semester, with all of its ups and downs, so that they may continue to be motivated in their studies. And may they see their hard work pay as they master their studies.

We further entreat you to help us in 2021. Especially that this may be a wonderful year of reconciliation in our families and among our friends, and restoration of families and friends.

We ask all of this in Jesus’ name, for your glory and for our good, as we join together praying what Jesus taught us, saying; Our Father…
