"There Is None Holy Like the LORD" - Morning and Evening Prayer (9 April 2017)
Sunday morning:
“There is none
holy like the LORD: for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our
God” (1 Samuel 2.2); we offer up to you our thanksgiving for all your
generosity to us……
We pray for your
churches throughout the nations that you give them all the resources they need
to serve you properly and well, and the heart they need to serve you in sincerity.
Deliver our brothers and sisters who are being hounded and harmed for the Faith
that they may serve you in peace and joy. “There is none holy like the LORD:
for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.”
We call upon you to
be with these churches around Oklahoma City, Peoples Church; Piedmont First United Methodist Church; Power House
Church of God In Christ; Praise Tabernacle; Prince of Peace; Profetico Sion
Iglesia Misionera; and Quail Springs Baptist Church. Guide them in the
ways of your truth and righteousness that they may show themselves your own
people in earnestness and truth. “There is none holy like the LORD: for
there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.”
Please help us in
this congregation, that our families may be filled with godliness and holiness.
May those who are single remain chaste and consecrated in their singleness and
the married be charitable, gracious and faithful. Give all parents encouragement
and energy, and help in raising their children in the nurture and admonition of
the Lord. May these children love you with all their hearts, souls and minds, and
their neighbors as themselves. And may the aged live out their remaining days
in the joy and peace of your Holy Spirit. “There is none holy like the LORD:
for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.”
We remember before
you those who need to repent of their sins and embrace your Son in genuine
faith…. “There is none holy like the LORD: for there is none besides you;
there is no rock like our God.”
O Lord God, you
have blessed us with civil government to restrain evil and promote justice. We
ask you to take our governmental authorities in hand – to include these State
Representatives: Scott Martin; Ryan
Martinez; Mark McBride; Charles McCall; Randy McDaniel; Kevin McDugle; Scott
McEachin; and Marcus McEntire; and turn their hearts and deliberations
in ways that will be truly good for our country and State. “There is none
holy like the LORD: for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our
God.”
Guide the nations and
leaders of the earth, such as Mahamadou
Issoufou; Muhammadu Buhari; Kim Jong-un; and King Harald V; so that all
peoples, especially your Church, may be safe and secure. “There is none holy
like the LORD: for there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God.”
Finally, give
renewed hope and restored health to those who find they are in dire straits, dog-tired
or done in and done for… “There is none holy like the LORD: for there is
none besides you; there is no rock like our God.”

Sunday evening:
A Prayer Shaped by
Revelation 1
Lord Jesus, you are the faithful witness, the firstborn of
the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. You love us and have freed us from
our sins by your blood and made us a kingdom, priests to your God and Father,
and so to you be glory and dominion forever and ever. Lead us in your liberty,
and bring us to find that in your service we have true freedom. O Lord, hear our prayer.
You are the Alpha and the Omega, who is and who was and who
is to come, the Almighty; you are our sovereign to whom we owe all allegiance,
to whom we are rightly obliged to give all of our loyalty no matter what the
whisperings of our society entice us with, or the shouting voices of our world
demand of us. May we live, advance, raise families, serve, evangelize, pay
taxes, vote, grow old, always and ever remembering that though the world around
us disputes your Lordship and reign, yet the day is coming when at your name
every knee will bow, whether in heaven, on earth, or under the earth, and every
tongue shall come to confess that you, Jesus Christ, are Lord, to the glory of
God the Father. O Lord, hear our prayer.
In making us a kingdom and priests, you have restored us to
Adam’s and Eve’s vocation to have dominion over creation, to be fruitful,
multiplying, filling the earth and subduing it. Guide us and aid us in going
and making disciples of all nations. May we see many being baptized into the
name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; and help us to teach
them all that you have commanded us; for you are always with us, to the end of
the age. We pray for those who play at our playground, come to our marriage
conference, attend our VBS in July, and who visit us on Sundays, that you would
add to this congregation such as are being saved. O Lord, hear our prayer.
You are the first and the last, and the living one. You
died, and behold you are alive forevermore, and you have the keys of Death and
Hades; and so we have no reason to fear. You told us to fear not; and so please
remove all worldly anxieties and faithless fears, and grant us greater confidence
in you that you are subduing all of your and our enemies and to face death and
dying with undying conviction that the last enemy you will triumph over is
death. O Lord, hear our prayer.
