"Almighty and Ever living God" - 17 January 2016

Almighty and Ever living God, you who are more ready to hear than we are to pray, and are willing to give far more than either we desire or deserve, hear us and for Christ‘s sake answer us.

Most loving Father, who has called us into your family by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and by the working of your Holy Spirit, give us strength and desire to walk worthy of our calling, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity produced by the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4.1-3).

We ask you to aid and support Dan and Carole Iverson - MTW Japan. Grant to them peace, protection, trustworthy co-laborers and all the financial resources they need in their mission work.

Look upon your Church throughout the world, including Clark Memorial United Methodist Church; Cleg Memorial UMC; Crown Heights UMC; Douglas Blvd UMC; and Epworth UMC. Give your approval and aid, and (where needed) alter their feeble attempts at being trustworthy to you, pouring out on them your unstoppable peace and provision; and grant them to stand firm as faithful witnesses.

O Sovereign, majestic Lord, who stands above all principalities, dominions, thrones, presidencies and powers: manifest your might and glory in our country by turning the citizens of this nation toward compassionate, fair-minded, industrious, virtuous, honorable living. Please take our governmental leaders in hand to restrain what may be vile, vicious and unconstitutional, and raise up among them what is good, just, godly and constitutional.

We implore your kindest care and compassion on the nations of our world, especially where there is turmoil, terror, trouble and turbulence. We especially pray for your guidance, peacefulness, law and order for Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, China, Burkina Faso, and the Russian Federation.

O God Most High, giver of all good gifts, who provides our daily necessities and even many of our niceties; we ask you to lift up those who are downhearted or disconsolate, drained or dreary in body or mind; along with those who are distraught or dismayed with dread and disquietude, we especially ask your care for these….grant them recovery and restored health; or strength and stubborn resilience.

Finally, we call to mind our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, enemies, and acquaintances who have not confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and continue to walk in darkness, as well as those who have turned away from the Christian Faith…..save them, O Lord, and bring them your righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
