"Through All the Changing Scenes of Life" - 29 November 2015 AM & PM

Sunday morning:

Through all the changing scenes of life, in trouble and in joy, the praises of my God shall still my heart and tongue employ. Fear Him, ye saints, and you will then have nothing else to fear; make you His service your delight; he’ll make your wants His care.

As a congregation, we give thanks to you, O God, for all your care and sustaining mercies. We ask you to awaken our hearts-hearts often numbed by the rush and rumble of our daily lives-awaken our hearts to be consistently thankful and grateful for the big and simple things we are given. Things like daily bread, children and grandchildren, friends, the ability to enjoy the taste of food and wine; and also a church family.

For your Church throughout the world, to include the Eastern Catholic Churches, Byzantine Rite Churches, Canadian Baptist Ministries, Cooperative Baptist Association, Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church, Uniting Presbyterian Church of South Africa, Javanese Christian Churches, and Czechoslovakian Hussite Church; Give strength, courage and joy to the faithful; hope and assurance to the doubtful; help and aid to the needful; reformation and restoration to the blameworthy. Grant us the wisdom and will to promote peace with all people, as far as it depends on us.

We remember those who are thrown around by the stormy seas of emotional and physical hardships, as well as those clambering to climb above the overwhelming troubles of their lives…Please look kindly on them and re-supply them with the help they need, help that will restore them and encourage their hearts, so that they may rise up and give you thanks.

We are grateful for those who are presently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, and have been deployed or are temporarily away from their families this Thanksgiving week end; along with the medical staffs, EMTs, Firefighters, Peace officers. We implore you to watch over them and may they see your daily care for them as you preserve them.

We cry out to you to graciously intrude into the lives and hearts of those who have never repented of their sins and trusted in Jesus Christ for their salvation……as well as those who refuse to hear your words and are stubbornly following their own heart (Jeremiah 13.10)…

Finally, we ask you to overrule and rule over the leaders and peoples of every nation, including our own, that peace with other nations, harmony within their borders, along with justice and prosperity might prevail for the wellbeing of all that your Gospel may be unhindered and your Church unharmed; and we ask this especially in light of the tensions between Turkey, NATO and Russia.

Sunday evening:

“O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven or on earth, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart” (2 Chronicles 6.14)). Glory to you, Lord God, Most High!

LORD God, who loves your one, holy, catholic and apostolic church, we join our hearts together to prayer for her in all places, to include Victory Church TV; Victory Faith Center; Bet Ami Congregation; B’Nai Shalom Messianic Congregation; Rosh Pinah Congregation; and Korean First Presbyterian Church. Since it is in Messiah Jesus we are all sons of God, through faith; and that as many of us as were baptized into Messiah have put on Messiah, and that all of us who are Messiah’s people are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise: therefore help us to accurately live out what it means that now there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male and female, for we are all one in Messiah Jesus (Galatians 3.26-29). Further, help us one and all to cast off the works of the flesh, with all of its racism, divisiveness and selfishness, and to prosperously bud and produce with the fruit of the Spirit… O Lord, hear our prayer.

Loving Father, thank you for those couples in our church who have found themselves attracted to each other and are moving toward marriage. We pray for them that they will learn well how to communicate with each other, to work together to glorify you and enjoy you, to forge a marriage that will resiliently last as long as they both shall live, and to be chaste and celibate until the wedding day. O Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray, Father, for ourselves as parents and our children still in the home. Give us help to raise the younger ones to believe, love and serve you all their days; and help us to rightly guide the older ones as they learn to make adult decisions and choices. For those children who have moved on in life, off to college or the Academy, married or single, entering careers or trying to figure their career direction out; help us to know better how to coach them, encourage them, give them proper advice or warnings; and help them to hear with humble and ready hearts. O Lord, hear our prayer.

Watch over those travelling back home, specifically those of our families and our fellowship; may your angels, as ministering spirit sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation (Hebrews 1.14), encircle and preserve them and bring them home safe and sound. O Lord, hear our prayer.
