"O Lord God, there is no one holy like you": 31 May 2015 AM and PM
Sunday Morning (31 May 2015):
O Lord God, there is no one holy like you, for there is no
god besides you, nor is there any rock like our God (1 Samuel 2.2);
Almighty and everlasting God, you have given to us, your
people, grace by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of
the eternal Trinity, and in the power of your divine Majesty to worship the
Unity: Keep us steadfast in this faith and worship, and bring us at last to see
you in your one and eternal glory, O Father; who with the Son and the Holy
Spirit lives and reigns one God, for ever and ever (Adapted from the Book of Common Prayer – 1979).
We remember the Hope
Center, grateful for their work, and glad that Chris Sperry talked with us of their mission. Be with the staff and
volunteers who work there. Protect them physically and emotionally, guiding
them, making their endeavors and aspirations effective for the glory of your
name and the good of those they serve. Provide for their financial needs and
fill up any manpower holes.
Please be with the Christian churches in Edmond, Oklahoma City, Putnam City, Warr
Acres, Bethany, Arcadia, Luther, Jones, Spencer, Mustang, Yukon, Midwest City,
Del City, Moore and Piedmont; as well as with the folks who are involved at
the Capitol Bible Study. Guide them
in the ways of your truth and righteousness that they may show themselves your
own people, in earnestness and truth. That
in them which is unruly and errant correct; that in them which is weak and weary fortify; and that in them which is right and
wholesome prosper.
Please help us in this congregation, that our families may
be filled with godliness and holiness. May those who are single continue chaste
and charitable in their singleness and the married be friendly and faithful.
Give all our parents help in raising their children in the nurture and
admonition of the Lord. May these children love you with all their hearts,
souls and minds, and their neighbors as themselves. And may the aged live out
their remaining days in the joy and peace of your Holy Spirit.
We remember before you those who need to repent of their sins
and embrace your Son in genuine faith…. Lord, have mercy on them, and save
them. And Lord, help us to have open doors with them, and mouths filled with
the Gospel of Christ to speak to them.
O Lord God, you have blessed us with civil government to
restrain evil and promote justice. We ask you to take our elected and appointed
authorities in hand, and turn their hearts and deliberations in ways that will
be truly good for our country. As the presidential campaign season starts to
heat up, help your people to keep cool heads, clear eyes and courteous tongues.
Guide the nations of the earth so that all peoples,
especially your Church, may be safe and secure. Protect those who are away in
other lands… and watch over them and their families while they are apart.
Finally Father, give renewed hope and restored health to
those who find themselves more fragile than they once supposed, and who need
recovery and restoration.

Sunday Evening:
When you, LORD God Almighty, delivered your people from
Egypt and from Pharaoh’s military might, your people adored you. With them we declare
your fame: “Who is like you, O LORD,
among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds,
doing wonders” (Exodus 15:11)? In solidarity with your people world over we
pray for your Church and your world. O
Lord, hear our prayer.
O God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in whose name we are
baptized and into whose fellowship we have been received. We cling in faith to
you, the only God. We praise you dear Father, for having loved us and sent your
Son to die for our sins. We praise you dear Jesus, for having redeemed us from
our sins by sacrificing yourself for us. We praise you, Holy Spirit, for having
sanctified us, for you gave us faith and through faith cleansed us from sin. O
Triune God, graciously enable us always to believe and obey, and to worship and
confess you; Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier, one God, eternal and
all-glorious forever (taken and adapted from: http://re-worship.blogspot.com/2012/05/five-prayers-for-trinity-sunday.html).
O Lord, hear our prayer.
We ask you to be with Northside Christian Church; Southern Hills
Christian; Transformation Church International; University Christian; and
Wildewood Christian Church; may their love and faith toward the Lord
Jesus and for all the saints be renowned, and the sharing of their faith become
effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake
of Christ. And may their love and faith bestow much joy and comfort, refreshing
the hearts of the saints (Philemon 5-7). O
Lord, hear our prayer.
O Lord God, we ask you to bring much needed help to those
trying to put their lives together after the tornadoes and raging floods, in
Texas and here in Oklahoma. Supply the physical help of workers, resources, and
finances for rebuilding and reconstruction. And please furnish the healing and
mending needed for their hearts, hopes, minds and memories. O Lord, hear our prayer.
Almighty God, who has promised to hear the petitions of
those who ask in your Son's Name; We beseech you mercifully to incline your
ears to us who have now made our prayers and supplications unto you this Lord’s
Day; and grant that those things which we have faithfully asked according to
your will, may effectually be obtained to the relief of our necessity, and to
the setting forth of your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord (taken and
adapted from the Book of Common
Prayer-1928). O Lord, hear our
prayer.
