"Great and Amazing Are Your Deeds!" - 25 January 2026.

 

With all of those who conquered the beast and its image, and with our brothers and sisters world over, we lift our hearts with the song of Moses and the Lamb: “Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations! Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed” (Revelation 15:3b-4).

O Lord God the Almighty, whose deeds are great and amazing: you have not only called to yourself men, women, girls and boys from every tribe, tongue, and town, but you have been faithful and called us into the fellowship of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 1:9). We pray for all of your people on every continent, our own congregation, Bethany Church of Christ, Bridge Creek, Britton Road, and Green Pastures Church of Christ. Bring us all to happily submit ourselves to your Scriptures as the final rule of faith and life, not just in our public pronouncements and ways of worship, but also in our day-in-and-day-out lives and relationships. Oh, direct our hearts into the love of God and the steadfastness of Christ (2 Thessalonians 3:5)!

O Lord God the Almighty, whose ways are just and true: we implore you passionately to restore those who are traipsing off into dark tangles and traps, thinking themselves wiser than you, and return them into your fold. We humbly pray you to turn around and set right those who have succumbed to Unitarian and Progressivist heterodoxies. Lay bare the disgrace and degradation of all who hide their immoralities and injustices behind the name of Christ to victimize the vulnerable and bilk the believers! Kindly, but strongly, bring them to confess their evils, to turn away from them, and to be saved before it’s too late.

O Lord God the Almighty, who alone is holy: we acknowledge that our days are in your hands, and our seasons and successes are under your supervision. We beg you to benevolently care for those who are sick, recovering from surgery, and more (…).

O Lord God the Almighty, who is King of the nations, who deserves to be feared and glorified: hasten the day when All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed. We intercede for all countries, including the U.S.A., Ghana, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Venezuela, Boliva, Brazil, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Syria, Libya, and all others. We pray for peace, but not peace with evil or peace with wickedness! We pray for righteous, wholesome peace; peace that reflects your own Shalom. Economic peace; judicial peace; international peace; and tribal peace. We pray for prosperity, but not evil prosperity or wicked prosperity. We pray for righteous, wholesome prosperity for entire regions and people groups; prosperous education; prosperous infrastructures; prosperous medical care; and prosperous family life. 

O Lord God the Almighty, we pray! And we pray in union with Christ our Lord and in the power of the Spirit, as we have been taught, saying, Our Father…

"Counterfeit Kingdom" by Pivec and Geivett. A Review.

  Some fifteen years ago he sat in my church study. He was the minister of a large charismatic church in town and had come to invite me to join a new reforming “movement,” the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). I had never heard of this movement, but he claimed it had apostles and prophets whom God had raised up to reignite the church and restore America to her Christian roots. Since those days I have heard more and more about the NAR, and began to notice how some prominent church leaders, pastors, and a few politicians, who are   aligned with the NAR and are coming into influence in our civil government. "For Your Church and World..." - 7 September 2025

  Lord God, we come to intercede for your Church and world. We ask you to strengthen this congregation that in doing all things without complaining and disputing, we may become increasingly blameless, pure in quality, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation (Philippians 2:14-15). Be pleased to make us even more harmonious and to become more clearly a sign of grace to our fractured and fragmented world.
