"Remember, O Lord" - 22 October 2017

Our highest and deepest thanks and rejoicing arise to you, O God our Father, because neither our condition or class, race or riches, political party or employability define or determine your love for us, nor your pleasure in us: “For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation” (Galatians 6:15).

Remember, O Lord, that your one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church needs you and your help. Therefore smile on your global church; smile on this congregation, and also Central Baptist; Central Hillcrest Baptist; Cherokee Hills Baptist; and Christ Deliverance Baptist churches; Saved by Christ alone, through grace alone, received by faith alone, and walking by the Scriptures alone; may we shine and exist to the glory of God alone. “Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old” (Psalm 25.6).

Remember, O Lord, that the nations of this world, including our own country, are as a drop in the bucket, transitory and temporary, little and limited before you, and need your sovereign hand to conduct and correct. Therefore please supervise and secure our own country and all the nations of this wide world, to include Aruba; Australia; Austria; and Azerbaijan. “Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old” (Psalm 25.6).

Remember, O Lord, that our frame is as dust, that our days are as grass that flourishes like a flower of the field; then the wind passes over it and it is gone, and its place knows it no more (Psalm 103.14-16). Keep watch over, sustain, lift up and aid ….; as well as those who are fretful of their future…; those who are concerned about having more month than money…; those who feel that their world or home or life is coming apart at the seams…; those whose hearts are broken by their children, friends, parents, or loved one…; those who are living with mental confusion…; those who are deceived by the evil one….; those walking through the valley of the shadow of death…; and those who are fired up with fury and roiling inwardly with rage…. “Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old” (Psalm 25.6).

Remember, O Lord, those who have turned away from you or never known you…“Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old” (Psalm 25.6).

Remember, O Lord, those displaced and dislocated by emotional imbalances, joblessness, and addictions, and are shuffling through our streets, languishing under our bridges, and filling our rescue missions. Grant sobriety, stability and sustenance to each as they need. And prosper the good work of agencies like Project 66, Hope Center of Edmond, Infant Crisis Center, the Boys Ranch, and City Rescue Mission. “Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old” (Psalm 25.6).

All of these requests – spoken and unspoken – we present in the name of Christ. “Remember your mercy, O LORD, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old” (Psalm 25.6). Amen.
