"Before You All Nations are as Nothing" - 16 July 2017

O God, Most High, to you all nations are as a drop in a bucket, and are counted as the small dust on the scales. Before you all nations are as nothing, and are counted as less than nothing and emptiness (Isaiah 40.15-17):  we beseech you to preside over all the actions, plans and associations in our land, steering leaders and citizens alike to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly before you in truth (Micah 6.8). And look compassionately on those families in our country who have lost loved ones this last week in plane crashes and through violence.

Smile upon the State of Oklahoma, continue to furnish us with moderate rains and showers as we need; grant us greater economic stability; make our crops, cattle, and honest industry to be bountiful; strengthen our education; and bring upon our neighborhoods genuine neighborliness.

We remember before you the nations of this world and their leaders, to include King Carl XVI of Sweden; President Doris Leuthard of Switzerland; and President Bashar al-Assad of Syria; and implore you to take up their reins and guide them away from blood feuds, intimidation, internal and external bludgeoning harassments, as well as all dishonest scheming; and revive honor, blameless valor, peace, and success in every place for the good of all peoples, and that your church may live in tranquility and equanimity, and the Gospel spread throughout all lands without harm.

We pray for your Church in every realm, along with these churches in OKC area; Church of the Holy Cross; St. James Anglican Church; Bethany 1st AOG; and Bethesda AOG: nurture our hearts and minds that our doctrine may be unblemished and health-giving, our lives virtuous, our worship unadulterated, our needs taken care of, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to have full sway over us in all that we think, do and say.

We implore you to support our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, those in the Coast Guard, our Law Enforcers, Firefighters and Paramedics…; that they may be courageous in the face of danger, diligent in the face of drudgery, successful in their responsibilities, and led by wholesome leaders.

We pour out our hearts to you on behalf of those who are still unbelieving, those who have strayed away, and those attending our Vacation Bible School this week….Bring them to embrace Jesus Christ freely offered to all in the Gospel.

Finally we pray for the sick, the recovering, and the mentally and physically limping,…through the trial and turmoil grant them to grow ever richer in good sense and reasonableness, to gain restored health, and to flourish in joy and peace.  All of these petitions we ask for your honor, our good, and in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
